About Me

About Me

I am a Baby Boomer, a "senior", recently retired and married to my husband Ron for 37 years. I have one daughter, a step daughter and five beautiful granddaughters.

I have always been interested in a variety of things and some I actively pursued - but not necessarily all of them at the same time of course.  Sewing, crochet, embroidery, gardening, pen and ink art, camping, boating, reading, music, dance, cooking and entertaining.  I am considered to be a good cook.

Always an avid reader I am really enjoying having time to read more for pleasure now - as opposed to text books.

I love a good, stimulating conversation (it energizes me), and meeting new people and learning about them (it often inspires me).

Except for a few years off for child rearing, I worked for almost 50 years.  My work was no exception to the variety I seem to enjoy - legal secretary right out of school, then on to law clerk.  That was for almost 20 years.  Bookkeeping and accounting and some administrative work is where I spent most of the last 30 years of my career.

I am passionate about Continuous Improvement and Continuous Learning and took night courses in business until we moved away from the city after my husband retired. I was also fortunate enough to work for a few companies that offered amazing training in a variety of areas.

Credit courses were not as accessible after we moved.  That was OK - I took a gardening course to better understand the gardening zone we had moved to.  Later, I took a pen and ink and water colour course.

Thank goodness for the internet.  I can continue to learn about pretty well anything - from the "comfort of my home".
